Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued its verdict on the allocation of reserved seats in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, approving a petition filed by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
According to the decision, PML-N and JUI have each secured 9 reserved seats. PPP has been allotted 5 seats. ANP and PTI Parliamentarians each received one additional seat.
Due to an equal claim on one minority seat, the ECP has ordered a toss between PML-N and JUI to decide its allocation.
Similarly, a toss will also determine one reserved seat for women between ANP and PTI-P.
The ruling comes after the ECP reserved its judgment during yesterday’s hearing on PML-N’s petition.
